You should always wash your hands, affected area with a mild soap, and allow it to dry for approximately half an hour, before applying A Ret Gel 0.05%. You should use a small dose of A Ret Gel 0.05% and a thin layer of the gel should be applied to the affected area, before bedtime. You should avoid applying an excess amount of A Ret Gel 0.05% on the affected area as it may cause pilling of the gel. You should not wash the treated area for at least one hour after the application of the A Ret Gel 0.05%. It can take 8 to 12 weeks to observe the results of the treatment.

- Avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight after applying A Ret Gel 0.05% as it may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn can happen.
- Do not apply A Ret Gel 0.05% in wounds or on the area of eczema.
- Do not apply A Ret Gel 0.05% around eyes, nose, and ears.
- If you are a pregnant woman or a breastfeeding mother, then consult your doctor before applying A Ret Gel.

Some common side effects of A Ret Gel 0.05% include dryness of skin, irritation, blistering, crusting or scaling of the skin, increased sensitivity to light, skin redness, rashes, and skin crusting and swelling.
